Spanish publication AS, has reported that Bayern want to purchase Eintracht Frankfurt midfielder Omar Mascarell. As a former Real Madrid player, Mascarell has a buy-back clause of four million Euros in his contract, so Bayern will need to negotiate with the Spanish giants in order to secure his services.
Mascarell has been a key player in Niko Kovac’s Frankfurt side this year, and it’s understandable if the Croat wants to bring him to Munich. However, Bayern already have a plethora of midfielders on the squad, with Leon Goretzka to join from Schalke on a free transfer over the summer. Therefore, someone may have to be let go, to allow the Spaniard to have a chance of breaking into the lineup.
As for negotiating with Real Madrid, it’s likely that Bayern’s management could work something out, as the Bavarians have a very good working relationship with Florentino Perez. Real hardly have any need for midfielders either, what with the likes of Toni Kroos, Luka Modric, Casemiro, and Ceballos in their squad.
