Pep Guardiola is rooting for former club Bayern Munich in the Champions League after seeing Manchester City and Barcelona knocked out.
On the same night his side failed to overcome a three-goal deficit, Roma stunned Ernesto Valverde’s La Liga leaders to send the Italian side through to the semi-finals.
Friday’s draw pitted them against City’s conquerors Liverpool in the semi-final, with Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich taking on Real Madrid in a heavyweight tie.
Asked about the last four, Guardiola made no secret over who he would be supporting for the final stages of the competition.
“It’s been a classic in the European competitions in the last year,” he said, having earlier referenced the chaotic quarter-final between Juventus and Real Madrid.
“Hopefully Bayern will have the luck they deserve this time and go through to the final. Considering we are not there and FC Barcelona are not there I’m a big fan of Bayern now.”
