Arsenal & Tottanham target has already signed for Bayern

As per a report from German outlet SWR this afternoon, in-demand Stuttgart defender Benjamin Pavard put pen to paper on a deal with Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich during the World Cup.

Pavard, 22, has been on the books of Stuttgart since 2016, when he made the move to the German outfit from Lille.

After struggling to lock down a consistent starting place during his debut season at the Mercedes-Benz Arena, Pavard went on to establish himself as an absolute ever-present for Die Roten this past season, playing every minute of the club’s league campaign, and establishing himself as one of the finest defenders in the Bundesliga in the process.

In fact, so impressive were the youngster’s showings over the last 10 months, that he was handed a place in France’s squad for this summer’s World Cup by Didier Deschamps, with Pavard’s performances in Russia en route to a World Cup winners’ medal having seen his star rise even further over the last couple of weeks:

Pavard had already been linked with the likes of Arsenal and Manchester United since the turn of the year, with a number of other European heavyweights said to have joined the race for his services since the beginning of the World Cup.

And, as per the aforementioned report from SWR this afternoon, one of these clubs have since clinched a deal for the gifted right-back, amid claims that Pavard has agreed to join German powerhouse Bayern Munich.

The report states that the youngster penned a deal during the World Cup, which will see him head to the Allianz Arena next summer for 35 million Euro (the release clause in his Stuttgart contract).

However, it is also claimed that Bayern have reopened negotiations with Stuttgart over the possibility of moving the transfer forward, with the German champions eager to bring Pavard to the club as soon as possible.
