German outlet Bild is today reporting that Robert Lewandowski has made a decision about his future and has agreed to stay at Bayern Munich this summer.
This is bad news for the likes of Chelsea and Real Madrid who have been heavily linked with the forward.
Lewandowski is a prolific, consistent, goalscorer. During his time at Dortmund, Lewandowski played 187 games for them. Racking up 103 goals and 43 assists in that time.
Then, when Lewandowski moved to his current club Bayern Munich he has, so far, played 195 competitive games for the German giants.
In which the Bayern forward has managed to score a very impressive 151 goals, as well as earning 35 assists.
As a result of Lewandowski proving season after season he is one of the best strikers in the world, many big European clubs have shown an interest in him this summer.
One of which was Premier League side Chelsea, who were looking to replace Alvaro Morata with the Polish forward.
Alvaro Morata arrived at Stamford Bridge last summer for a whopping sum believed to be around £60 million.
However, despite the hefty price tag Morata has failed to impress for the Blues. The forward started the season well scoring six goals in his first six league games.
But since the 9th of December 2017, Morata has scored a dismal two Premier League goals. His poor displays brought him under huge criticism from his manager and fans alike.
This would lead to Morata becoming somewhat of a fringe player for Chelsea as Antonio Conte would at times, choose to play Eden Hazard up front, rather than Morata.
Alvaro Morata’s poor season would also see him miss out on Spain’s World Cup squad when it was announced in May.
Now, after just one season in England, Chelsea are looking to replace Morata but it will not be with Lewandowski.
